Michael Martin was born and raised in Central New York. He began drawing and creating at a very young age and was encouraged to do so by his family. Michael spent most of his younger days drawing in sketchbooks, reading comic books, and doodling on school papers. He decided at a very young age that he wanted to be an artist and pursued this throughout his early life.  He continued to hone his talents throughout his high school career, winning several Scholastic Art Awards and attending the New York State Summer School of the Arts- Visual Arts in 1996. 

 

From here, Michael attended community college and received an Associates Degree in Graphic Design/ Computer Graphics in 1998. He then studied painting at SUNY Brockport, and eventually received his Bachelor's Degree in Advertising Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2003. After working in the Graphic Design and Photography field for several years, Michael again returned to school and received his Master's Degree in Creative Art Therapy  which merged his creativity and innate empathy in a way that he could help others through their own personal struggles and mental health issues. 

 

After Graduate School, Michael met his wife, Sarah, and the two built a life together blending their natural skills and passions for helping others with their creativity and holistic values.

 

They  now live in Rochester, NY with their adopted daughter and pets. Michael now works as a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist and Freelance Artist.
